More about Barter and/or altruism

This article is just about the distributing method for Goods&Services and doesn’t digg further in which products&services are fair or about the way they should be produced.

Barter way for getting-giving things combines egoism, equity and altruism putting each one of these diferent concepts/methods in its place. I prefer to use Barter-Swap for diferencing a fair exchange from an unfair exchange. An Exchange can be a swindle, a barter-swap can’t be a swindle.

In a Barter/swap trade(=Trueque in spanish) both parts have to arrange an equivalence for the offered goods and/or services’ value to be exchanged. Because we tend to think that our offer-to-be-exchanged has a bigger value than others(=egoism), we both have to add-a-tip(=altruism) in our offer for reaching the wanted value’s ammount (=equity, equivalent value as the other’s offer).

For a better understanding: Imagine 2 glasses of water that boh of us fill them. For both to be sure about they being completely full, we overfill them, resuliting in some water leaking out.

Because of this, Barter trade necesarily tends to and builds reciprocal altruism. This trend tends to grow more&more because of the surprising pleasure that anyone gets when receiving an unexpected wanted present. The $ trade way is going in exactly the opposite direction.

If there’s something really free(as in gratis) is because there’s not an expectation-demand in exchange. We could say that that wanted thing we want when we give something gratis is not too important, but if that exists there’s not gratis then(0.0001 is not 0).

A free thing is suposed to be always wanted although in some cases this teorically wanted thing could be a disturbing new for the receiver. The red line is difficult and impossible to draw acurately. Whatever is not wanted although free offered should be considered a bad thing, an attack, a swindle or something like that instead of considering it as a refused free thing or a bad free thing.

If some of us, even a majority, would decide to be pure altruists who give everything for free(if exists) to anyone we could be giving it to some people who won’t give back anything-just will get as much as posible not because of a real need. A trend like that will go destroying the altruists societies… because goods are limited!… the altruism needs to be limitated-federated gradually.

So Barter-swap trade is a way to control altruism over the limited goods’(including services) use.
